In 2010, the gods descended to strike me with the notion of mounting dollar store pots with dollar store wire below my wholly decorative and never used cast aluminum bench. Eight dollars and that many weeks later, my climbers matured to cover the bench before climbing up the wall.

Would that I had the $1.6 million needed to buy one of those snazzy downtown Toronto row houses with a patch of soil out back. Alas, I content myself with cultivating my sky garden. I start very many things from seed and get more excited than a grown man should watching things sprout. Any vintage seed traders out there?
I enjoy my garden as much from inside as I do outside. My indoor reading chair affords a grand view of the greenery. Hot summer nights, it's pure delight to curl up and read with the door pushed open and gentle night breeze pouring in. I don't at all mind street noise which is, after all, the very sound of life to true urbanites.
